MetroSport was established in 2001, when a group of students wanted to organize a sports and well-being event for other students at their school. At that time, the event was called StadiaSport. The current name MetroSport comes from the event’s association with Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. Thanks to the new name and the ever-expanding activities, MetroSport has grown in recent years to become one of the largest student sports and well-being events in Finland.
MetroSport 2024 will take place at the Olympic Stadium on 18.9.2024 from 13.00 to 17.00. This annual sports, wellness and cultural event brings together Metropolia students and staff members to kick off the academic year in a relaxed atmosphere.
MetroSport is a low-threshold event. The event gives participants an equal opportunity to get to know each other, different sports and both physical and well-being activities. The event is alcohol-free and completely free of charge.
