MetroSport began in 2001, when a group of student friends decided to organize a sports and wellness event for their fellow students. At the time, the event was called StadiaSport. The current name, MetroSport, reflects its connection to Metropolia University of Applied Sciences. With the new name and expanded operations, MetroSport has grown into one of the largest student sports and wellness events in Finland.
MetroSport 2025 will take place at Töölön Kisahalli (Paavo Nurmen kuja 1 C, 00250 Helsinki) on Thursday, September 11, 2025, from 1 PM to 6 PM. This annual event brings together students and university staff to kick off the academic year in a relaxed and energetic atmosphere.
MetroSport is a low-threshold event that offers an inclusive space for participants to connect with each other, try different sports and physical activities, and explore services that support mental and physical well-being. The event is completely free of charge and substance-free.
